"Fashion Revolution" in St.Gallen The fact that fairly produced fashion looks great and feels better than cheaply produced sweatshop sweatshirts will be demonstrated by HSG students during the public “Un-Dress” event in the Lokremise on 20 April. In workshops, designers and researchers will examine various perspectives of sustainable textile and fashion production. The fashion show will start at 8 p.m. 13 April 2016. “Un-Dress” was launched in 2012 as a result of a student initiative at the University of St.Gallen. The event is intended to sensitise people to responsible clothes shopping and the fair manufacture of textiles and fashion accessories along the entire value-creation chain. “Un-Dress” unites students, fashionistas and representatives of the industry in the historic textile city of St.Gallen in order to inspire an awareness of emotionally acceptable fashion. Tickets for the fashion show are available from www.un-dress.ch and in the St.Gallen Globus store. Haute joaillerie and fashion revolution In the afternoon of 20 April 2016, participants will be able to exchange ideas with textile industry experts in three small-scale workshops . In an interactive panel discussion, Alfred Beerli (CEO of the Swiss workfashion.com company) and Emanuel Büchlin (Head of Textile Purchasing, Coop) will debate fair working conditions and sustainability problems along individual value-creation chains. The worldwide Fashion Revolution movement aims to create an awareness of the actual costs of everyday fashion.
