Appointment: Bernadette Dilger Prof. Dr. Bernadette Dilger has been Full Professor of Business Education and Educational Management at the Institute of Business Education and Educational Management (IWP-HSG) since 1 April 2015. 1 April 2015. Bernadette Dilger was born in Augsburg on 21 March 1971. She is of German nationality. In 1992, Bernadette Dilger first graduated in Business Administration at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. She then studied Business Education and Educational Management at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and obtained the degree of a Diplom-Handelslehrerin with distinction. In 2006, she was awarded a Doctor’s degree by the University of Paderborn with a thesis on "The self-reflecting learner – a business-educational reconstruction regarding the construct of self-reflection". Working in Paderborn, Constance and Cologne After periods in Paderborn, Constance and at the Forschungsinstitut für berufliche Bildung im Handwerk (Cologne), she has been Professor of Business Education and Educational Management and Curriculum Research at the Institut für Berufs-, Wirtschafts- und Sozialpädagogik of the University of Cologne since 2010. Dean of Studies and Project Leader of the EQUIS accreditation From April 2011 to March 2012, Prof. Dr. Bernadette Dilger occupied the position of Dean of Studies at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences. Furthermore, she took on the academic directorship of the "Professional Center" project of the University of Cologne and was involved in the EQUIS accreditation of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences. Approach of design-based research Prof. Dr. Bernadette Dilger has a considerable number of publications in German and English to her credit. She pursues the approach of design-based research, which is also a methodologically guiding principle in the IWP-HSG. Her research topics focus on questions of curriculum and competence development for business education at secondary level, and on vocational training and university didactics. Theory and application-oriented business education Prof. Dr. Bernadette Dilger has for several years been teaching at the University of Cologne, where her teaching has regularly been evaluated. On the strength of her outstanding performance, Prof. Dr. Bernadette Dilger was awarded a Teaching Prize at the University of Cologne. She commands a wide gamut of topics; her courses range from theoretical seminars (e.g. on "Patterns of interpretation and their theories") and application-oriented issues of Business Education (e.g. "The teaching methodology of professional training courses" or "Business administration and its didactics") to methodological issues (e.g. "Research workshop in qualitative education research").
