SBB Lab Team is now complete Prof.Dr. Christian Laesser has been appointed the first Managing Director of the SBB Lab for Transport Management. He has held this position in an interim capacity for the last five months. 14 April 2010. The SBB Lab, which is funded by the Swiss Federal Railways and was set up on 1 January 2010, is a research and competence centre at the Institute for Public Services and Tourism (IDT-HSG) at the University of St.Gallen. At present, its five members of staff are primarily working on issues of service and transport management in the field of tenison between the state and the market. Customer behaviour as major research areaFor many years, Christian Laesser’s major research and consultancy areas have included customer behaviour and service management, particularly in the network industries of tourism and transport. In his capacity as the Secretary General of the Swiss Transport Science Society and as a member of the OC of the annual Swiss Transport Research Conference, he has very good connections in the transport research community. Besides Prof. Laesser, it is made up of Prof.Dr. Thomas Bieger, Director of the IDT-HSG and Coordinator of the SBB Research Fund, Dr. Lukas Summermatter (Senior Researcher), Stephan Reinhold, M.A. HSG, dipl. Wipäd. (Research Assistant) and Mirko Gross, dipl.-Kaufm. (Research Assistant).
