Skills As part of the Skills course, students are taught and trained in ways, methods and techniques of academic practices based on case studies and problem solutions. The objective of the Skills course is to gain a basic understanding of the transdisciplinary methods necessary for your further studies. For that reason, teaching is offered in a balanced combination of lectures and seminars and assessment and is based on individual as well as group work. As part of the Skills course, students are introduced to academic writing in the Autumn Semester. In the Spring Semester, students attend the course "Integrative Project”, which requires working on the ability of integrative thinking – which is a vital skill that takes place where knowledge and expertise has its limitations. "Introduction to academic writing" (Autumn Semester) The course provides an introduction to academic writing and an overview of the methodologies used in scientific research. Students develop competency in reading scientific texts, including classifying, understanding and writing. Special emphasis is placed on the handling of information sources, on research techniques, developing a research question, persuasive argumentation, and not least on the first step writing your seminar paper. "Integrative Project" (Spring Semester) A large number of the challenges that are presented to us today, especially on a social, but also on a corporate level, on closer inspection, turn out to be complex problems. It is a characteristic of these kinds of problems that in order to find the solution, it is essential to look at the problem in a holistic way, and, therefore, it is paramount to achieve an "out-of-the-box" thinking beyond the boundaries of the disciplines. As a result, the "Integrative Project" course objective is to help students develop the ability in dealing with such complex issues and problems, and to work on these in an integrative manner. Consequently, students are required to reflect critically and work in an integrative manner on a selected business problem in form of a case study, based on the theoretical and conceptual foundations of the core subjects in business administration, economics, law and contextual studies, which are delivered in the autumn term of the Assessment Year.
