Management Innovation always takes place in a specific business context, evolves over time, and deals with different questions and challenges. In these (sometimes very long-term) research partnerships, new knowledge is developed that is both part of the executive management agenda and embedded in current debates in international management research.

- Entrepreneurial executive management of fundamental industry and organizational transformations (with decision-makers from Sanofi-Aventis, Aventis, Hoechst, and Rhône-Poulenc, in the context of the pharmaceutical, chemical, and life-sciences industries)
- Entrepreneurial management and strategic resource allocation in the interaction of Corporate Research and Corporate Innovation (with senior management from IBM Research, as well as in discussion with entrepreneurs and executives from various technology firms)
- Entrepreneurial management and practices of legitimizing the new in the context of innovation of innovation models (with F. Hoffmann-La Roche and IBM Research, as well as in discussion with executives from various technology firms)
- Entrepreneurial management of creative processes (with Jakob Schlaepfer, in the context of the fashion and design industries, with the Artificial Intelligence Lab at the University of Zurich, and with various actors in the creative industries, including Com&Com and etoy)
- Management Innovation and the establishment of strategic references and practices of entrepreneurial executive management (in a long-term research partnership with AdNovum Informatik AG, Ergon Informatik AG, finnova AG Bankware (and msg systems AG), in the context of the software industry)
